The actions of our elected officials have a tremendous impact on the business environment and the quality of life in our city. The Chamber has long been the voice for business with our local government officials with whom we have established a positive working relationship.
From a local government perspective, we have hired a government consultant to monitor the City of Bonita Springs and Lee County meetings to keep us up-to-date on issues that affect the business community. We often encourage our members to contact their local elected officials using our VoterVOICE® program to express their support of or opposition to business-related issues.
To keep abreast of current local issues in the City of Bonita Springs, we urge you to visit their Web site often for meeting notices. On a state level, every year we visit our legislative delegation in Tallahassee during “Lee County Days in Tallahassee” to communicate our local needs to our state government officials.
Please review the policy statements, approved by the Chamber’s Board of Directors, that enable us to represent your business interests in a proactive and timely manner. Questions regarding our governmental involvement can be directed to the Chamber president, Nancy Keefer.
Please also see the PDF documents below. The first details introductions to the candidates for the elections on January 29th 2008. Please remember the last day to register to vote is December 31st 2007. The second PDF is a very informative matrix of candidate responses to some important questions and issues.
