Meet our YP CEO Panelist: Norman Love

Norman Love spent two years in France, learning the craft of pastry making from artisans who shaped their confections in a small pastry shop. The experience became the foundation for a career with The Ritz-Carlton, where he served as executive pastry chef in Naples and St. Louis. At age 30, he was appointed corporate executive pastry chef of The Ritz-Carlton, a position he held for 13 years.

In 2001, Love left the corporate world and entered into private enterprise as the founder of Fort Myers-based Norman Love Confections. Ten years later, he opened a second Chocolate Salon in Naples followed by Artisan Gelato by Norman Love, next to the Fort Myers Chocolate Salon, in 2012, and a third Chocolate Salon in Miromar Outlets in Estero in 2014. Norman Love Confections can now produce more than 55,000 handcrafted gourmet chocolates daily.

Since founding NLC, he has received tremendous national and international recognition. Norman and his chocolates have been featured by USA Today, The Today Show, Robb Report, InStyle, Martha Stewart Living and O, the Oprah magazine. A highly respected consumer rating publication has recognized the company more than a dozen times since 2006 including six times as the best ultra-premium chocolates in the nation. Last fall, Norman was in Miami for the launch of Chocolate Journeys, his partnership with Princess Cruises. Norman Love Confections and custom-crafted desserts are now offered on all 18 Princess ships, along with wine and chocolate pairings, chocolate cocktails and chocolate spa treatments. Also last fall, the Huffington Post named Fort Myers as one the six best U.S. destinations for Chocolate Lovers, based on Norman Love’s vibrant flavor combinations including tangy Key Lime Shells and sublime Cherry Cordial Truffles.

During 2014, Norman became a laureate of the Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida Business Hall of Fame; presented with nine other master pastry chefs at the inaugural World Pastry Stars congress in Milan, Italy; and was profiled as one of 10 finalists in USA TODAY’s Entrepreneur of the Year contest.

Norman also ensures that Norman Love Confections shares its sweet success by giving back to the community. Annually, the company supports more than 250 charitable causes.
