Job posting: Director of Development (Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties)

Position Summary: is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing Habitat’s individual donor program to help meet the organization’s fundraising goal and build the individual and group donor base.

Primary Responsibilities:   To secure funds for Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties by managing a group of assigned and acquired donors; assuring that as many as possible are retained as continuing donors to the organization and are upgraded in their giving and involvement.

  • The Director of Development will operate within the ‘moves management’ system which provides the structure for moving a donor from prospect to solicitation
  • Works cohesively with Community Outreach team to meet Strategic Plan
  • Supports the Vice President of Community Outreach in the Development Planning Process
  • Plans and executes a comprehensive annual giving program including prospecting, communications, solicitations, recognition and stewardship activities
  • Work to acquire new Habitat community partnerships and establish new donor relationships
  • Document all activity in donor software
  • Other duties as assigned

Governor DeSantis Appoints Cicarello, Reappoints Martin and Nix as FSW Trustees

AUGUST 12, 2019 – FORT MYERS, FLA – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment David Ciccarello and the reappointment of Jonathan Martin and Danny Nix to serve on Florida SouthWestern State College’s (FSW) Board of Trustees. All appointments are four-year terms.

Ciccarello is a civil attorney and shareholder at Wilbur Smith Attorneys at Law in Fort Myers. He has served as a member and chairman of the grievances committee for the Florida Bar, 20th Judicial Circuit and volunteers his professional services to those in need, earning him the Florida Rural Legal Services Pro Bono Recognition Award. Bonita Springs Mayor Simmons welcomes Natene Bwaya from Uganda

Bonita Springs, Fla. August 12, 2019 – Bonita Springs Mayor Peter Simmons welcomed Natene Bwaya to Bonita Springs as part of the August 7 City Council Meeting.  He presented her with an official welcome plaque from the City of Bonita Springs.

Natene is a 17-year-old high school student who will be attending Gulf Coast High School and living with Rotarians Sandra and Wayne Hemstead, as part of Rotary International’s Youth Exchange Program.  The Rotary Clubs of Bonita Springs and Bonita Beach Sunset are sponsoring Natene’s stay in Southwest Florida.

Rotary Youth Exchange is an international exchange program developed in 1929 that currently sends over 9,000 high school students around the world, for a yearlong stay in another country, living with host families.  Through this program, Rotary International hopes to create a more interconnected and understanding world. One of Rotary’s primary goals is promoting peace around the world, and through Rotary Youth Exchange we aim to make the world a more peaceful place, one exchange at a time!
