Leadership Bonita Alumni: Meet Maryjo Griffith

Why did you go through the Leadership Bonita Program?

I graduated from the Leadership Bonita program in 2007.  At this time, I was the Advertising Sales Manager for The News-Press – Bonita Bureau.  With Bonita Springs/Estero being my focus – the Leadership Bonita program was an awesome opportunity for me to connect with other business leaders in this market and community.

What job/company were you at the time of the class?

Advertising Sales Manager/The News-Press/Bonita Bureau

What is your lasting memory of the Program?

I really enjoyed spending time with my classmates and loved the different field trips that we took. We visited places that I had never been to in the years that I have lived in SW Florida (Which at that time I had lived in SWFL over 25 years).

What was one of your biggest takeaways from it?

Bonita Springs is a fantastic place to live, work and play. The Bonita Springs Leadership is so well organized and implemented. I did take my Leadership skills that I learned  – and helped with the Bonita Estero Associations of Realtors Leadership Class – serving on their Committee.

Where/what are you doing now?

In 2008, I took a voluntary buy-out from The News-Press/Gannett and enjoyed 3 years off traveling, school, and family.  In 2011, I joined Naples Daily News as an Advertising Account Executive on their Real Estate team. In 2017, I transferred to The News-Press and continuing to be an Advertising Executive on the Real Estate team – assisting my customers with their print advertising and digital marketing across all platforms – Search, Social and Display; along with website design and eblasts.
